The PARty is Back! Day 4 - Back to School Blog PARty

We are heading into the final stretch of my Back to School Blog PARty! So far it has been a smashing success! There is still time to get in on all of the party action. All of the giveaways are open for entries until Sunday night (8/7/11).

Teacher's Money Binder
Today's freebie is a teacher's money binder. Okay -you have to get your own binder, but I did make you a cute cover page and some nice forms for keeping track of book orders, field trips, and other money collections. I'm even going to tell you how I set this up, and why a money binder is a good idea.

Have you ever lost a book order and found it a year later in the back of your desk drawer? I know this sounds a bit crazy, but I've seen this kind of thing happen to more than one teacher! Where is the first place a thief will look for money in a classroom (besides your purse)? You are correct! The teacher's desk drawers. And it does happen. A binder is a simple way to keep track of your money, orders, and permission slips. You can tuck it on your shelf with your other teaching resources, and no one is the wiser!

What do you need for your teacher binder? Purchase a one or two inch binder with a clear, plastic sleeve in front. You will also want three hole punched folders and a zipper pencil pocket that goes into a binder (make sure it's not a see-thru pencil pocket). And of course you need to download your FREE Teacher's Money Binder. Set your binder up for book orders, field trips, and other. Keep forms, book orders, and permission slips in the pocket folders, and money in the pencil pocket. Now you are set for keeping track of money collections!

Giveaway Time!

Today I am giving away a teacher's goody box filled with some wonderful and practical items. I will snail mail the goodies to the winner! You can see the goodies in the picture, but you can't see everything. The box will include extra surprises.

Rules

For this entry, I am going to send you on a scavenger hunt. You will find a lot of teaching articles on this blog. If you look to the right-hand side you will see a list of "On the Blog" topics. Choose a topic, find an article, and read it. Then come back and post a comment telling us which article you read and how you might apply something from the article to your classroom this year. That's it! Go forth and learn something!

This contest is open for comments until midnight Central time August 7, 2011. I will use random.org to select a winner. I will notify winners by email by August 9, 2011. I will also post the winner on the blog on or before August 10, 2011. The winner must email me their mailing address.

Come back tomorrow for one more day of partying, another free download and giveaway!
